George A. Hornedo is President of Hornedo Strategies—a consultancy specialized in government advising, political strategy, and athlete advocacy. Concurrent to his role as President of Hornedo Strategies, George serves as a Senior Consultant to Prime Policy Group—Washington’s leading bipartisan government relations and public affairs firm.

Prior to founding Hornedo Strategies, George worked as a Public Affairs Attorney at Ice Miller LLP where he supported corporate, municipal, and nonprofit clients with their policy, government affairs, communications, and business development needs before federal, state, and local governments.

During the 2020 election cycle, George worked during the presidential primary as National Deputy Political Director and National Delegate Director at Pete for America. In these roles, he managed outreach to superdelegates, state legislators, city council members, and county chairs, as well as led the ballot access operation to ensure Pete Buttigieg qualified for the ballot in all 57 states and jurisdictions.

George’s dedication to public service has also led him to roles as Regional Voter Protection Director for the 2020 Democratic Coordinated Campaign in Texas, Outreach and Engagement Consultant at the Obama Foundation, Senior Policy Advisor at Let America Vote, Outreach and Engagement Coordinator for the pre-elect Clinton-Kaine Transition Project, and Regional Delegate Director at Hillary for America National Headquarters.

George started his career as a political appointee in the Obama-Biden Administration where he served as a communications aide at the U.S. Department of Justice under Attorneys General Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch.

As a certified National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) Player Agent with an interest in collegiate sports, George is able to help professional and college athletes navigate a wide variety of business and legal matters.

Additionally, George serves as Political Advisor to Texas State Representative James Talarico, is a member of K Street Capital—an angel investing collective—and sits on the State Central Committee for the Indiana Democratic Party where he represents the Indiana Latino Democratic Caucus.

George received his B.A. in Government from Cornell University, his Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School.

George is a two-time National Spelling Bee finalist and appeared in the feature film Akeelah and the Bee.

Bespoke Service

Bespoke Service

What do government affairs professionals, political consultants, and sports agents have in common?
Their clientele may differ, but the nature of the work is advocacy and strategy.

And what’s one problem with each of these industries?
The incentives are out of balance. More clients means more revenue, but more clients too often means less focus and lower quality of service.

Hornedo Strategies will always meet the unique objectives of each client with a bespoke strategy tailored to one’s needs.

From policy and regulatory analysis and strategic counsel to direct outreach and crisis management—and with relationships across the country at every level of government—Hornedo Strategies can do it all.

But most important, Hornedo Strategies aims to be a value-add—not a cost—to your bottom line.

If you’re a company trying to secure federal funds or are engaging in state and local procurement processes, Hornedo Strategies is here to help.

If you’re a state or local government looking to get your fair share of dollars flowing out of Washington, Hornedo Strategies has you covered.

  • Dollars are still available via American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF).

  • Money for broadband ($65 billion), transportation ($288 billion), and energy ($191 billion) programs are available as a result of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).

  • Applications for many energy incentives ($369 billion) out of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) are on the horizon.

  • Guidance has been released for the Regional Technology and Innovation Hub Program ($10 billion) as well as for the CHIPS for America Program ($50 billion)—two key programs out of the CHIPS and Science Act.

Whatever your priorities may be, Hornedo Strategies can align project needs with sources of funding.

Political Strategy

George’s public service career has led him to work directly with national leaders like Pete Buttigieg and Jason Kander. Currently, George is Senior Strategist to Ron Harris' congressional primary campaign against incumbent Representative Dean Phillips (D-MN-03) as well as a Political Advisor to Texas State Representative James Talarico—two rising stars in Democratic politics.

One thing these public servants all have in common is that they are young, progressive Democrats showing how to fight the good fight in conservative-leaning states.

With political and communications experience at the highest levels of Democratic politics and government, Hornedo Strategies can advise candidates as they look to grow their profile and maximize the important work they do.

Athlete Advocacy

Athlete Advocacy

The sports agent industry is currently dominated by a few multi-billion-dollar agencies. Collectively, these agencies represent not only athletes across all sports, but also the leagues, teams, brands, and properties that athletes play for or endorse.

What’s clear is that most clients are just another client. But you deserve more. And this isn’t just at the professional level.

And at the collegiate level, the NIL ecosystem is rapidly growing and constantly evolving—requiring representation to appropriately navigate the legal and regulatory frameworks in such a way that puts athletes first.

At Hornedo Strategies, we will provide 360-degree support. From the procurement, negotiation, and execution of endorsements and contracts to brand building, media engagement support, and post-career counseling, Hornedo Strategies will center your needs above all else.
